We had an incredible time. See over.
75 Degrees, some free time, and a day out with the kids. We had a great time.

(BULLETIN: France now supports immediate withdrawal of the IDF. Resolution is dead. Israel ready to invade big time.)
We have not written publicly available alerts on the Israel-Hezbollah conflict for several days, simply because there has been nothing to report. This is not to say that nothing was happening; brutal fighting was going on, rockets were being fired and airstrikes were being carried out. However, the basic pattern of the war appeared to be fixed, with Israeli troops fighting well-entrenched Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon, and with the results of those battles uncertain. The diplomatic process was lurching along without any clear direction.

ISRAEL AND JERUSALEM FACTS
By Jed Babbin
In 1973, when a bank robbery turned into a six-day siege, several employees of the Kreditbanken in Stockholm, Sweden were held hostage under threat of death. At some point in those six long days, the psychological pressure so badly twisted some of the hostages’ minds that they believed the robbers were protecting them from the police. This emotional pathology became known as the Stockholm Syndrome.

The Israeli Defense Force is probing hard across the entire Lebanese border, from Metulla to Marwahin. Eight Israeli brigades, at about 1,000 soldiers per brigade, plus supporting units (engineering, artillery, reconnaissance, communications, logistics) are currently engaged inside southern Lebanon. “IDF troops had established positions overlooking 11 south Lebanese towns and villages up to six kilometers north of the Israeli border,” according to Haaretz. The southern Lebanon battle map has been updated to include the position of Israeli troops and current clashes based on news reports.

The morning of Aug. 2 saw the completion of a daring Israel Defense Forces (IDF) raid deep into Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, the heart of Hezbollah operations. Beginning at 10:20 p.m. local time Aug. 1 — three hours before the official end of the Israeli air force’s (IAF) self-imposed 48-hour cease-fire — IAF planes struck targets in and around the town of Baalbek, more than 62 miles inside Lebanon. Electrical power was the first to be taken out.

We’ve been able to obtain a translation of what could be described as Israeli PM Ehud Olmert’s victory speech. A direct statement to the people of Lebanon, as well as the achievements of the operation are towards the end. Bottom line, the campaign will continue, and Hezbollah is not the same organization it was three weeks ago. It’s lengthy, so it continues below the fold:
